Thunder Bay’s secondary schools, Westgate Collegiate & Vocational Institute, Superior Collegiate & Vocational Institute, Sir Winston Churchill Collegiate & Vocational Institute, and Hammarskjold High School have had the chance to take part in Art for AIDS International workshops. Their involvement has given this organization the opportunity to display their beautiful and creative artwork to the public.
From June 30-July 21, 2016 Art for AIDS International will be hosting an exhibit, which will be held at One London Place, on the second floor gallery. We invite you all to come and see the exquisite pieces that these students have worked so hard to prepare. Not only did we gain the opportunity to work with these marvelous and enthusiastic students, but Thunder Bay’s secondary students also had a chance to gain insight on important topics relevant to their community, including social justice issues and HIV/AIDS. By allowing students to learn about HIV/AIDS, we are reducing the stigma and fear so students may take the next necessary action to protect themselves from such a serious issue. Although HIV/AIDS may be considered a sensitive topic, discussion will create openness and awareness, allowing for communities to grow in knowledge.
We hope to see many of you during the exhibit so that you may have the chance to see the spectacular work of these talented students!
